Anthony Watts has been FALSIFIED!
That really can not be denied.
His claims of "biased Surface Stations"
Are nothing more than "Ken-L Rations".
The trend is upward just the same,
The station dropouts are not to blame.
Of course, being wrong is not a crime,
Everyone is from time to time.
But a "crime" has occurred in Wattergate:
Twisting truth and tempting fate.

Inspired by the work of Tamino (confirmed by others here and here) that has demonstrated the falsity of claims by Watts and others that "dropouts" from the temperature station record have introduced a "false warming trend".

Based on little more than this debunked, false assumption that station dropouts have induced artificial warming in the temperature record, Anthony Watts and co-author Joseph D’Aleo have suggested (in "SURFACE TEMPERATURE RECORDS: POLICY DRIVEN DECEPTION?" SPPI, Jan 29, 2010) that station dropouts may actually have been part of a "deception" (ie, fraud) by some of those involved with overseeing the surface temperature record.

"Wattergate" was coined by Tamino in his Message to Anthony Watts (in reply to the suggestion "Wattsgate" from commenter "rocco") as a moniker for the misinformation being disseminated by Watts and others about the surface (weather) station record -- particularly about the scientific conclusions based on that record.

Ken-L Ration is a defunct brand of dog-food (and "surfacestations(.org)" a debunked brand of blog-food) made famous by the advertising jingle
